New international standards for double hull oil tanker construction were recently adopted at the 32nd session of the Marine Environment Protection Committee (MEPC 32) of the International Maritime Organization (IMO), a United Nations agency responsible for maritime affairs.
Tano Gets Contract For Vessel Control Systems
Tano Corporation of Metairie, La., has been awarded a contract to design and manufacture centralized control systems for two refrigerated containerships. The vessels are being built by Bethlehem Steel Corporation's Sparrows Point, Md., shipyard for Farrell Lines Incorporated.
